This has been a long year for Summer and I. It could become longer depending on how all of the details pan out in San Juan this Friday when I am scheduled to close the deal on the house. I say that because the mortgage brokers and banks have been adding all these little extra nuances on every phone call/email and haven’t definitively scheduled the closing for Friday. Fingers crossed that it all goes well.
I flew out of San Diego last night on a 9:00pm flight on Jet Blue. I had a very spacious emergency exit row that I picked online when I bought the ticket. I have been working a lot lately and slept like a baby. I didn’t wake up until our wheels touched down in New York at the John F. Kennedy airport.
Walking around JFK (where I am now) is a stinky reminder of how nice the San Diego airport is. This place has been around for a long time and it shows…BUT, they do have free wireless Internet in the JetBlue terminal…so that may bump it up on the “airport rating” scale.
Once I get into San Juan this afternoon I have a mental schedule of what I am going to do;
1. Get the rental car
2. Put on board shorts
3. Call Bank schedule appointment
4. Call Mortgage Broker schedule appointment
5. Drive to Costco; pick up something to sleep on, power tool set and a couple of beach chairs to chill on at the house while we are working/living there with a Costco Credit I have from returning my TV
6. Drive to Rincon and stay at Marks tonight
I am hoping to get in and out of Costco quickly so I don’t have to deal with San Juan rush hour…its a nightmare. If all goes well, the swell we are expecting will start filling tonight and I’ll be able to start my trip off right.
