After quite a few estimates, we decided to get our plumbing done by Hoche (jose) Vargas. His family owned the entire valley we live in at one time and now Summer and I are surrounded by the Vargas family. They have been very welcoming and have offered their help in every way possible.

We had to run a water main 300 feet from the end of our driveway to the house and dig the hole for our septic line. We hired a backhoe to come in and dig our trenches for us (the entire work only cost $80) which we got done in about 3 hours.

We got the plumber to add an outside shower and cap off all of our copper ($120 for 60 feet) pipe throughout the house so we could get one toilet working. We may be living without power, but soon we will be showering outside and taking care of business without running to the woods. Check out the pictures…
