After getting a few ridiculous quotes to hang the greenboard in the house, we decided to charge ahead and do it ourselves. Brian Mangen has hung plenty of drywall and is essentially doing all of the cutting and directing us where to hang. Once we finish hanging the greenboard we will hire one of the local guys to tape and mud the seems.

Finding the greenboard was not an easy thing. Home Depot carries 4×8 1/2 inch greenboard but we wanted less seems, and I wanted the fire retardent thicker stuff. I spent a couple hours calling around, dealing with the language barrier until I finally pulled the trigger with a supply store in Mayaguez that would deliver for free called ACHE Trading. We couldn’t get 4×12 board anywhere, but we got the 4×10 fire retardant 5/8′s and were happy enough with that. They delivered 100 sheets of 4×10 and 40 sheets of 4×8 on Thursday and we started hanging.
