Puerto Rican Trench

Author: Stefan | Filed under: Construction

We backfilled the trench we dug for the underground electrical last week. Jun cruised in with his backhoe and would have made quick work of the job if we hadn’t added one stipulation. We wanted to keep all of the big rock to use later on as rock for retaining walls, hard scape and eventually to build an outside rock shower/cave (josh’s idea).

These pictures of the rock that we saved may not look that impressive, but we were digging through these piles of dirt looking for them and hand loading them into the backhoe (we filled about 8 wheelbarrows before we decided to wait for hydrological assistance). I don’t think we have enough rock for our entrance wall/gate but we will definitely have enough for a few retaining walls to help with our drainage issues and our outside shower area.
