Airlines That Fly into Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

Author: Summer | Filed under: Puerto Rico, Travel

Stefan and I have been flying back and forth from California to Puerto Rico A LOT lately, so we are becoming quite air saavy. As a matter of fact, Stefan is on a Jet Blue flight back to Puerto Rico right now. We prefer to fly into Aguadilla because it is the closest airport to Rincon, which is where we live. The San Juan airport is the most popular airport to fly into Puerto Rico, but unless you are planning on staying in, or near, San Juan, it sucks to fly in there because the traffic in Puerto Rico SUCKS. Here is a list of airlines that currently fly from San Diego, CA to Aguadilla, PR:

~ Jet Blue (layover in New York)
~ Delta (layover in New Jersey)
~ Continental (layover in New York)
~ Northwest (layover in Minnesota and New Jersey)
~ Spirit Airlines (layover in Ft. Lauderdale)

Jet Blue has the cheapest flights which I have been scoring for $189 each way.

I will update this list as I find more airlines that fly from San Diego, CA to the airport in Aguadilla, PR. :)

Are there any flights through Miami or Texas that fly into Mayaguez? That airport is also about 20 minutes from rincon.

I can’t find anything from the mainland to Mayaguez. Continental flies from San Diego to Mayaguez, but it costs $1000, you have 2 or 3 layovers and you connect to Mayaguez from San Juan, PR. Pretty useless…

Spirit doesn’t even fly into Mayaguez (and from what I’ve read, the Mayaguez airport is for commuter flights).

$189 each way? Or each leg of the trip? I’m looking at flying from SD to Aguadilla in June and JetBlue is quoting me $299 each way. Maybe I should wait a few more weeks/months before booking my flight?

  5. Vicious Summer Says:

Carlos – Yes, $189 each way (not each leg). It’s the high season right now, so they are a little more expensive. If you can wait a couple of months, the prices will go back down.

Mayaguez airport is strictly for small planes/ commuters between San Juan and Mayaguez. You will have to connect to fly into that airport. I’m surprised you have never seen it — its on the left on Rt 2 as you head into Mayaguez proper.
