I just ordered my new desktop computer from Apple.com and found out some very disturbing news. Apple does not ship to Puerto Rico! (or any other US Territories)
Because Apple won’t ship my new iMac to Puerto Rico, I have to get my new iMac shipped to the Vicious Enterprises office in Carlsbad and then ship it from there to Puerto Rico. The operator that took my order gave me a couple of hundred bucks off of the list price to accommodate the extra money I would have to spend to re-ship the computer down here.
Apple is so cool.

We are such Mac whores…Looks like you just ordered our third iMac, for a grand total of 6 Apple computers (3 desktops, 3 laptops). I havn’t even opened my new MacBook. It’s been sitting under my desk for over a month. I can’t wait until October it over!!!
You could get it through CompUSA on the island
wow…I didn’t know that CompUSA carried Mac’s or that there were any on the island. I went to CompUSA.com and did a location search…the closest one is in San Juan. It even lists Miami as one of the locations close to my zip code.
Just in case you are curious, Miami is 1030 miles from Rincon.
There’s also the “Apple Store” in Plaza Las Americas… not quite a real apple store. It’s called Modernica and it’s one of their authorized resellers on the island. They’re not that good though to be completely honest- they refused to sell me a RAM upgrade because I had not purchased my computer through them… a simple call to apple took care of that thankfully.
The local compusa website is http://www.compusa.com.pr
Also, in December Circuit City and Best Buy are opening stores on the island, San Patricio Plaza in Guaynabo and Plaza Las Americas in Santurce/SJ reportedly.
The iMacs just keep getting better. I’ve still got my 5 year old angle poise style one.
Hopefully they don’t leave the new one on the porch like last time.
