Designing a Closet

Author: Summer | Filed under: Bedrooms, House, Interior Design

Puerto Rico got hit by a freak storm (tropical storm Olga) last night and our power was out for the majority of today. So, since we couldn’t work (no power = no internet), we decided to design our closet. It took us a little over an hour, but here is the rough sketch.

Tomorrow we will go buy the cedar to start constructing the closet. :)

Wow…that was much harder than I expected it to be. Summer and I were in the closet with our stinky dogs with a tape measure, a pad of paper and a pen for an hour trying to figure out the best way to layout the closet.

We are putting a set of shelves up the center of the closet and are going to build the same exact closet set up on both sides except for one thing. All the way to the right, we are going to stop the lower hanger rod about 2 ft short so we can have somewhere to hang formal prom dresses and stuff. :-)

Hmm….now, we need to buy cedar and try not to mess up any of our cuts because that stuff is expensive! ($50 for a 4×8 sheet)
