Progress on Our Offices

Author: Summer | Filed under: House, Interior Design, Office

The last two days, Stefan and I have been concentrating our efforts on getting our offices in order. It’s really, really hard to work when your office is a construction zone wreck, filled with random piles of crap! So, here is the progress on our offices. I’ll let you guess which office is Stefans and which is mine ;)

I spent a good hour or two just moving the furniture around, trying to get the perfect lay out. As I mentioned before, the walls are concrete block and plaster, so we have to drill into concrete in order to hang things on the wall. This leaves little room for error when making the final decision on where everything is going to go. Getting everything on the walls perfectly straight was probably the most time consuming part, but I got everything right on the first try, thanks to my handy tape measure, calculator and level!

    Summer & Stefan,

My wife and I enjoy your website and we plan on learning from your experiences. We currently live in Spangdahlem, Germany with plans to retire in P.R. within the next 5-to-6 years and build a home somewhere between Farjardo and Aricebo. I would like to stay somewhat close to civilization without having to live too close to San Juan. Plus, Nail’s family lives closer to Farjardo. For now the search is on for a couple of acres to build on. Keep persevering, don’t sweat the small stuff, and continue to have the image of your finished home in your minds.

    Kind regards,
    Charles & Nail Timms

Oh my gosh, my office was NOT ready for a photo shoot yet. :-)

I built the desk a few days ago with the scrap we had left over from our walk-in closet. I am still going to build a few more items; the printer table behind my desk, paper/book storage for on top of my desk (flanking my computer) and would like to put in a couch, a chair and a media center. I have one dry erase board and quite a few pictures I would like to hang as well…I’ll ask for Summers help with hanging stuff…she pays very close attention to detail.

I need to leave room for my assistant to have a set up as well…but I don’t need to cross that bridge for another 3 months.
