Well, I think we official have a new kitty. Stefan and I were driving to dinner tonight and Stefan swerved to miss a kitten that was standing in the middle of the road. I thought we ran it over, but Stefan saw that it went between the wheels and was still standing, frozen, in the center of the road. Stefan pulled over and ran back to the kitten and snatched it off the road, just before another car came around the bend.
The poor little guy was tiny and was mewing like crazy, but other then that he was fine and pretty sweet for just losing one of his 9 lives…He was obviously hungry (as he is pretty much skin and bones under all that kitten fur), so we drove back home and fed him some turkey. We took him to dinner with us and after a few minutes he was purring like crazy with his little belly full and getting lots of love.
So, here he is…What should we name him?!

I was thinking we should name him Bronco (since that’s the vehicle we almost ran over him with), but we need more suggestions…
Popularity: 78% [?]

How about Felix?? He looks like a felix to me!! Or TC - Top Cat
Say, where did you get that Turkey from? That Kitty must have been happy with that yummy turkey in his belly!
What do Kuta and Monkey think of him?
Love the name Bronco!
We miss you guys…
I think you should name him Socks!
Oh he is so cute! And thank goodness you rescued the little guy too. You should name him Lucky, because he is lucky.
Awww, he is very cute! Well, probably a “he” but it is so hard to tell unless you have a same age other sex to compare to. Maybe Rico or Roadkill or….?
I am so glad you rescued him, he looks so cute and loveable. My weakness, Cats! Mr. Lucky is a good name, since he was very lucky to have been found by you, but he does look like “Tiger”. I hope your dogs welcome him after a period of adjusting.
I think you should name him “butterball” after the turkey that nurished him back to health!
I vote for “Turkey Sandwich”!!! very cute kiddy!
Summer is anti naming our cat after another animal (my dogs name is Monkey)…or Turkey sandwich would definitely be in the running.
We should set some sort of time frame for this “Name the cat contest”…but really, we may just ignore all of your suggestions and name our kitty ‘dumb dumb’.
“JC” for Jungle Cat
TC - Turkey Club
Amber said how about Tripp for Tryptophan. Ottis, Oliver, Chance, Hobo, Brave, or even Highway to name a few?????
Okay, let just call him Mr. Rincon! The most popular Rinconero!
we have votes on:
maci says goober(goob)
maryn says mango
stephanie says pistachio or stach(stash) for short this maybe a winner i like this one…
scott says the Exterminator or nator
Ha Ha! Turkey Sandwich, that’s great!
My vote is Bronco turkey sandwich kitty kitty meow meow. It’s a mouthfull but it works.
ooooh, Tripp is a good one. I also like butterball and JC. Names are always so much fun to come up with.
The final decision is in Summers hands…and I think she is leaning towards….Stay Tuned!
Rosa…It is actually Rincoeño (people from the town of the beautiful sunsets!)….don’t mean to be stuck up…just saying! Dorian
Dorian - that’s ok, you can correct me, but my problem is that I don’t know how to put the little squiggly line on top of the n from my computer.
Rosa….Alt 164 = ñ Alt 165 = Ñ Alt 168 = ¿ Alt 129 = ü Alt 173 = ¡
I don’t understand why we can’t get key boards in Spanish!…I used to work in Montréal and took me for ever to get used to the French Key board!
Anyway….sorry kitty for changing the subject! hopefully the 3 kings will bring you plenty of turkey and milk tonight!
I rescued our last cat from the Walmart garden center 2 days before Christmas several years ago. We named him “Wally” which somehow evolved into Walter. He has been the best cat although he is terrified of anyone outside the family. All the trauma of being dumped at Walmart, I guess.
On a PC you can just change your keyboard settings to “United States-International”
Then it’s just a matter of typing ~n to get ñ (~ + n = ñ) and ‘u for ú/”u for ü and so on. Since I only use a laptop, it’s much easier than using Alt keys
Jaffa is a popular name for ginger cats, here in the UK. Named after a certain type of biscuit, but you know all about those.
Too jewish! lol!
Been following your efforts there in PR but concerned for your newest family member….feeding a dog(or cat) turkey is a really big nono and could cause serious damage..suggest you check with your vet before feeding your pets turkey. How’s about “Saved”
Best.R.
Hey, I went away this weekend to Atlantic City for a dinner party so I had not seen all these entries, WOW, you kitty is famous. I don’t think I have seen any of your other entries have as many responses. Summer- I trust that when you look at your new baby, that the name will come to you, it is that easy.
And p.s. I grew up in PR, so I know that the street animals eat about anything, so feed them what you will, they will be happy even eating their own poop! As long as their alive.
Hhmmm strange… I am heading off to Atlantic City in the AM. When I bring back my bag of winnings I will dontate the proceeds to “THE KITTEN WITH NO NAME CONTEST”. What’s the kitty have to say about about all of his new names…How about CONUNDRUM??? Rescued and famous in only days. Maybe it’s time to give Oprah a call.
How about “Mr. Special?” porque esta especial por tu! katrina
Chopper
OMG, he’s such a little cutie! I say “he” because most orange tabbies are boys. If he lifts his leg to pee then you’ll know… oh wait that’s dogs. If he leaves the seat up… no that’s not right. I guess you’ll just have to look “down there” and find out. Anyway, since your baby is Puerto Rican I vote for a Hispanic name like Hector or Pedro. Here’s a link to a big list of Hispanic boy names.

Peace,

I think we all know that Summer will come up with the perfect name for her new baby.
p.s. I have a house in Rincon but live in NJ but I do have a great housekeeper, so if anyone needs someone that is good, trustworthy and detail oriented, let me know, my girl is one of my best find in Rincon.
I think you should name him Trippy. Which can be short for tryptophan, which is found in turkey, the first thing you fed him.
ya know stefan i think pastacio was a pretty good name and you surely would have called it stash. how cool funny would it be with friends and family over asking people… hey where did my stash go. well i guess depending on company you would have to be carefull with that one, any way hope you are doing good and hope to see you soon things got tough but i would like to come out soon love ya man see ya
hahaha…scott, you a funny guy.
We got all kinds of good names for this kitty…deep down I wanted to name him Buck Rogers…but we put out the poll and as of right now, Cheechieto looks like it is coming in first.
The next animal is going to be named Buck Rogers and there will be no vote!
