Office Furniture – Start with a desk?

Author: Stefan | Filed under: Downstairs, Furniture, Office

Summer and I went to the Rooms to Go liquidation center before she left for California looking for some furniture. I found an awesome couch set for my office but ultimately didn’t buy it…but I had a reason. I couldn’t rationalize spending a bunch of money on lounge furniture for my office when i am still working on a desk that I made out of left over Cedar plywood.

It prompted me to look around online a bit and I found this great desk….in Wisconsin. Does anyone know if there are any antique dealers here on the west coast or in San Juan?

That is an AWESOME desk. How much was/is it? If it is reasonably priced, I would pay the extra $100 to ship it to PR

Hey guys! I love reading your blog everyday. I don’t know of any antiques furniture dealers. But I know of a good website where you can find places in PR. Not sure if you have come across this one yet, but check it out:

Do they have craigslist in PR? I have been saving a ton of $$$ using Craigslist! Perfect wine cooler fit exactly in weird space in kitchen. Love my new office furniture more than I expected not that it is finally assembled and in place.

we have craigslist, but it’s not nearly as popular here as it is in the state. Perhaps with the higher numbers of US mainlanders living on the western half it is, but not here in San Juan. Here, it’s clasificadosonline and endi FTW :/

Hello, I have seen your blog before and have been curious as it is our plan to move to ponce in the summer 2010. In old san juan, they have at least one antique store that Ive been in recently. I dont remember which street but it wasnt that far from el morro, maybe a 10 minute walk. I have been to another antique store in old san juan but that was on a previous trip and I didnt see it this time. There is also a salvation army thrift store near the piers, It doubles as ahomeless shelter I believe. There are also numerous classified websites in addition to craigslist but I cant think of their names right now sorry. Good luck finding a nice antique store.

I dragged Angela through the streets of San Juan to try and find the El Alcazar, which was highly recommended in Fodor’s. Sunday afternoon – by the time we got there the place was closed, but here is their website:

    http://www.elalcazar.com/

I think there are others in San Juan – also, we saw an enormous flea market on the road from Rincon to San Juan – don’t know any more than that but it might be a fun place to try.
