After a month and a half of absolutely no good surf in Rincon, we got smacked upside the head with a gigantic swell this week. The swell came from the low pressure system that moved off into the Atlantic last week after delivering a tornado to Atlanta Georgia. Strong winds, low barometric pressure and a good fetch create waves in the Atlantic.

Is it putting any of the houses in danger? If memory serves, there are some houses pretty close to the water @ Sandy Beach
Wow! That’s what the west looked like. I spent the week in Luquillo to relax and found myself tempted to run to San Juan and dig out my board.
Very nice, where did you end up paddling out?
Some of the beach front houses in Aguada took a beating, but i don’t think anything along Sandy Beach took any water damage. For the most part, the reefs make the waves break out pretty far when it’s that big….
Awesome pix–I was staying near Dogman’s last week and it was just amazing to see. On Saturday the debris left on the beach was pretty incredible too.
