Best Restaurant in Rincon, Puerto Rico?
I’m testing out a new blog toy (a poll plugin), so here is a question for all of you Rincon, PR locals: Who has the best food in Rincon, Puerto Rico? (You can add your favorite restaurant to the poll, if it is not already listed!)

Hey Guys,
I would have said Shipwreck had the best food in Rincon, but someone added the (sushi night)and that makes my vote go to the Rum Shack.

Justin – I love the sushi at The Rum Shack, too. Definately one of my favorites during the season. Unfortunately they don’t have sushi in the off season because their sushi chef goes back to the mainland to work.
Bummer!

Have you ever heard of a place called “El Platano Loco”. I went to it over 10 years ago and I remember it being way up in the mountains in Aguada, but I’m not totally sure. It had all kinds of menu creations with plantains of course. This was a very humble family place if it is still open. I know this topic is only about Rincon restaurants, but I was just curious and thought to ask.

Hi-
First – great site! My sis and I have a place in Stella and this site is awesome – what a wealth of info!
Have you guys tried Nativo? Its a very cool bar / restaurant behind the sports stadium (turn onto 412, bear right behind the stadium, take the first left and you can’t miss it) They have the traditional Puerto Rican fare, but also great fish specials. Last time I was there I had a huge salad with a fresh tuna steak on top – great stuff. They serve food late, always have the Yankees on have pool tables, etc. One of my favorite places in Rincon!

Well if you asked I will tell you..first off the bars and restaurants in Rincon are just OK at best, and most of the places the service is terrible, with wait times of a hour, and I dont mean on a packed day or night..I live out here so I should know, my rule is 3 strikes and your out.. I give them all a try and after that..sorry I dont tell my vacationers about them, they get X’ed out.. I tried to stay in Rincon for going out to eat but somehow, I head the other way they are quite expensive, even for puerto rico standards, So to sum it up..the best places for me in Rincon, are the pincho stands..yup they have some of the tastiest food, dont ever pass one up. Unless you want to get out of Rincon and join me…Mahi Mahi in Anasco, Grand Marnier Restaurant in Aguada, El Plantano Loco, Don Quiote, …Im getting hungry..sorry gotta go…

I have to agree. Although I have noticed that restaurants in Rincon are improving when it comes to food and efficiency.
