Chupacabra comes from the Spanish words chupar, meaning “to suck”, and cabra, meaning “goat”; literally “goat sucker”, also called El Chupacabras in Spanish, it is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas.

A couple years ago i went down to my barn and saw something that looked like a naked coyote or dog. It had really sharp teeth and had no hair. the legs where half decayed looking but then again the whole monster looked like it was dead for while. It was wrinkle and probably weighed about 6 pounds and it had red eyes that where open. It was really creepy and immediatly thought it was a Chupa Carba. We left it there and the next day it was gone… either it wasn’t dead because we started at it from a long ways away or something ate it. It was weird because it just showed up one day and when i was down at the barn in the morning it wasn’t there but it was there at night. CREEPY!!!

Stefan, I know all about weird noise coming from the valley below our house. I have never heard such weird noise at night time, I thought I had some wild turkeys but someone told me about the screeching owl! But it did keep me up many of a night.

There was a great X-Files episode about the Chupacabra years ago. Unfortunately the latest XF movie isn’t as good.

As long as you don’t keep goats you and Summer should be fine. I wonder what the Spanish for “mini-donkey-sucker” is?

Yes Cassie, it was very random. I guess it is a bit of a Ca2Pr joke:

When I first started working on the house with no power or water, life was a little bit rougher. For some reason, electricity really provides a security blanket for me, so at night, I would lock the house up. There is some sort of Turkey or something down here, that makes the most god awful screeching noise that would run or fly by the house (I never saw one) prompting me to hop out of bed and run to the windows to try to see what the evil noise was coming from.

I never saw what it was, but Summer and I swear it must have been the mighty elusive Chupacabra. Hence, my reporting of a recent Chupacabra sighting.
