So here I am, sitting in the great room and it’s raining inside my house. A grande storm rolled in about 5 hours ago and the power has gone out (thank you, battery backup…more on that later since I only have 10 minutes). Anyhow, it is very windy and rainy. So windy/rainy that it is blowing in through the open soffits between our roof and walls…Open soffits are great to circulate air throughout the house, not so great when it’s windy/rainy. I was really worried about ruining the drywall, but luckly Stefan is smart and installed greenboard, which is virtually waterproof. I’m going to swim off to bed now, thank you very much.
We purchased our house in Quebradillas and are in love with it…. there are “SEVERAL” things that we would like to do it…. I contacted Lumber Liquidators and they ship wood floors to the island but I am concerned about the water inside the house also…. we’ll see about the open soffits, since someone had mentioned that bats could also make it their home and that will scare me half to death…. Hope your place dries soon!
