A Day in the Life: Rincon
Today was a long day. Everything about it was Rincon Puerto Rico to me. Conner and I went surfing at one of the local spots this morning and had it all to ourselves from 6:30am to 8:00am when a few of our friends paddled out. The wind was slack and the waves were about head high. Glassy right handers. Perfect.
After our surf, Conner and I came back to the house and filled up the back of the Tundra with a bunch of trash we have had laying around (old mattress, scrap wood, old/broken lighting fixtures) and went to the dump in Anasco. We dumped everything for free and headed off to the lumber yard to buy more mahogany.
Roberto, Conner and I picked out 8 more pieces of African Mahogany. The lumber yard just opened a new pallet of wood, but it was filled with warped, stained and cracked wood. We fished through this pile for about an hour. We ended up having to buy 16 foot by 10-15 inch wide mahogany planks. We strapped them to the roof of the truck so theat they were only hanging about four feet off the back. Driving out of the Lumber Yard two hours later with the Mahogany and some Spanish Cedar louvered doors for our master bath left me with about a thousand bucks less in my checking account.
On the way home from the Lumber Yard, we stopped at Home Depot and bought more painting supplies for the downstairs rooms. I recently painted the guest room downstairs with Conners help, so we have been getting very familiar with the guys at the Home Depot paint center.

Just wanted to let you know that I am very impressed with the work you have done in your house.
I am a huge fan of DYI projects. Have you done the work with friends or did you have contractors help you?
Very nice job, enjoy.
