We’re packing up our flip flops, laptops and diaper bag. We’re putting the wetsuits back into storage and savoring the last morsels of Traders Joes goodies, mexican food and sushi. It’s time to head back home to Puerto Rico! Yippie!
While it was good to get off the island and to see old friends and family, Stefan, Sydney and I are ready to get home to Rincon. We are preparing to wrap up work here in California and head home to Puerto Rico, after a quick stop on the East Coast to introduce Sydney to Stefan’s familia.
We’ll be back soon and will have tons of stuff to write about since there has been some pretty major construction going on while we’ve been gone…
That’s exciting that you’re headed back. My fiance and I moved to Rincon in August. Gotta say, you’re blog was definitely one of the most inspiring and helpful resources for the move. I’ve been following for awhile now, and I feel kind of dorky but I can’t wait to meet you in person.

Glad you spent time with family and friends in California. We have been very busy with our construction project, and work, and wondered why I had not gotten an ‘alert’ from you guys.
Temps have been warm around here and I am ohhhh sooooo ready for our Puerto Rican fresher ‘winter’ season that I just can’t wait!

It’s funny. My husband and I did the California 2 Puerto Rico, but in reverse. We’ve been in Cali for four years now, we like it, but might go back in two years… What made you guys decide on PR? Was it the surfing? If yes, why not Hawaii? We just got married in Hawaii and thought it was a cleaner, more relaxed version of Puerto Rico… Though Hawaii is kind of expensive…
Mel - That is funny :)! What part of Cali did you move to? Hawaii wasn’t really on our radar when deciding where to move (price has a lot to do with that)…It was between Costa Rica and Puerto Rico and at the time you could not get a mortgage in CR and we didn’t exactly have $400K cash. Costa Rica was going through a real estate boom at the time and it really was not very affordable. So when the perfect piece of property, for the perfect price, in a town known for perfect waves (Rincon), popped up, we jumped at the chance and here we are.
We moved to San Fran, freezing! We miss PR soooo much, after 4 years I’m still not used to this weather. Rincon is beautiful, I lived there for a few months. It is another world. Sounds like you guys found your little piece of heaven. My hubby and I wish to find our own soon. We’ll see what happens…
