Paying Property Tax in Puerto Rico
That’s right folks, even people living in paradise have to pay taxes! Up until this point, dealing with the administration and/or government in Puerto Rico has only been easy if you had a friend walk you through the steps and where you need to go or if you paid someone to make your moves for you.
Today, when I got my property tax bill, I was given the option to go online and pay there. The CRIM website is all in Spanish, but if you visit it in Chrome, Google will give you the option of automatic translation. I entered my CRIM tax ID (provided in my bill), entered my credit card info and I paid my bill as easy as pie. Just like that.
If you would like to pay your Puerto Rico property tax bill online, here is the website: CRIM.
It just got that much easier to live in paradise

Hello guys! I did my payment in the website too, but you gotta watch out with it! I did my first payment on time and they sent me a letter charging me with interests. I went to Hacienda to show the evidence that I paid and they supposedly fixed it and gave me like a receipt. I didn’t read it in the moment and when I arrived back home, surprise!!! They charged me interests in the second payment which due date was yesterday and it was like August or something!! Always keep your evidence, you don’t know what to expect from this guys!

Thanks Stefan! If you had a facebook share button, it would be easier to broadcast this info to my friends.

Hey guys, I am missing your frequent posts. I guess becoming parents radically altered your priorities–with good reason! We are finally moving to Humacao in January and have benefited immensely from all your tips and reader comments. Still undecided about which cell phone service and ISP to choose to give us good coverage on the east coast, though. We hope to be able to meet you as we begin our travels through the island. Keep in touch, especially if visiting the east, you guys will have a place to stay! — Fran
